Randy Ray

Randy Ray, SMHS ’22

Eugene B. Casey Scholarship and S. Jay Hazan M.D. Endowed Scholarship

After receiving his BA in anthropology and social entrepreneurship from NYU in 2013, Randy began work as a solar energy entrepreneur in Liberia. During his time in Liberia, the West African Ebola outbreak piqued his interest in humanitarian aid work. Initially he assisted with the Ebola response, then he began managing refugee assistance programs in Sudan, South Sudan, and DR Congo, where he met his wife, Floramae Esapebong-Ray, SPH ’24. These experiences, along with a desire to provide equitable care for all, led him to GW to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor.

Joseph Decilos

Joseph Decilos, CCAS ’24

Margaret D. Rust Memorial Scholarship

A native of Harlingen, Texas, Joseph is a sophomore at the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, pursuing a double major in mass communication/journalism and photojournalism. He is a 2020 Coca-Cola Scholar and a recipient of the George Washington Book Award. Joseph has a passion for art history, theater, film, photography, and storytelling. He is currently a board member for Latinxcellence, a tutor for GoPeer, and an Amazon Student Ambassador. He enjoys staffing programs with the National Hispanic Institute and his work as an intern at the Latin American Youth Center, influencing the future of Latinx youth. Joseph continues to build on his art and storytelling resume through writing and photography.

Prashamsha Rayamajhi

Prashamsha Rayamajhi, ESIA ’22

Shelby Cullom Davis Foundation Scholarship

Prashamsha is a senior at the Elliott School of International Affairs, majoring in international affairs with concentrations in conflict resolution and the Middle East. International affairs piqued her interest from an early age as she and her family originated from Kathmandu, Nepal, and immigrated to Massachusetts in 2012. Prashamsha plans to attend law school post-graduation and hopes to work in labor law on behalf of employees and unions. She serves as a member of the Students Against Imperialism organization, which supports anti-imperialist awareness in the campus community. Outside of her busy course schedule, she enjoys reading, painting, and spending time with loved ones.
