Donna Arbide
Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations
Donna joined GW on March 1, 2018, after more than 30 years at the University of Miami, including serving as interim senior vice president for development and alumni relations. During her tenure at the University of Miami, Donna oversaw the university’s alumni relations, annual giving, and parent programs, as well as fundraising efforts of the school and college development programs.
As interim senior vice president for development and alumni relations, she worked closely with the university’s board of trustees and the institutional leadership to implement the University of Miami strategic plan and development efforts for its three campuses. She helped greatly expand alumni and parent giving, led several award-winning programs to establish a vibrant national and international network of University of Miami alumni and parents, and was the lead visionary and fundraiser for a new alumni center on the university’s Coral Gables campus.
Donna has served as a board member for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), where she chaired the Commission on Alumni Relations, helping to launch the international initiative creating standards of practice and alumni engagement metrics for the profession. She chaired the 2018 CASE Summit for Leaders in Advancement. Donna has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and a master’s degree from the University of Miami.

Susan Boerstling
Assistant Vice President for Corporate and Foundation Relations
Susan Boerstling, Assistant Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Relations, spearheads foundation and corporate engagement strategy for the university. She joined GW in 2013, and has more than 20 years of development experience specializing in partnerships with institutional funders. Prior to joining GW, Susan was with the Communications Consortium Media Center, a strategic communications nonprofit, for 13 years in a variety of positions, including development director and chief of staff. She also served at Georgetown University in the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations, and at the United Way of Massachusetts Bay in the marketing department. Susan is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Boston College with an A.B. in Communication. She is originally from Maine and enjoys lobster rolls and salt air.

Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
Patty joined GW in July 2019 to manage alumni engagement and annual giving efforts. She brings more than 25 years of experience in development and alumni relations, including roles at the University of Maryland Smith School of Business, Sidwell Friends School, Catholic University of America, and the University of Pennsylvania. Most recently, she served as Director of Advancement at The Spence School in New York.
At The Spence School, Patty brought management and fundraising expertise that completed the school’s fundraising campaign, enhanced parent and alumnae participation, and supported the head of school and board of trustees in key advancement and alumnae initiatives. As the Assistant Dean for development and alumni relations at the UMD Smith School, she designed and implemented a comprehensive advancement program to support strategic initiatives and helped secure the second- and third-largest gifts in the school’s history.
Patty earned a B.A. from Hood College and an M.A. from Villanova University.

Anne Dean
Assistant Vice President, Strategic Advancement Solutions
Anne is the assistant vice president of Strategic Advancement Solutions, overseeing the Campaign, Donor Relations, Principal Proposal Development and Research & Relationship Management while liaising with central Communications and Marketing and Events on large scale projects like GW's Bicentennial in 2021.
A 15-year veteran in the higher education nonprofit fundraising industry, Anne joined GW in 2012 following stints in frontline fundraising, alumni engagement, and prospect development at UC San Diego, Hood College, and Vanderbilt University. An industry volunteer, speaker, and writer, Anne was named an EverTrue 40 under 40 in 2019 and Apra Professional of the Year in 2020. Anne earned her BA in economics, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University and completed a certificate in Work Leadership from UC San Diego

Gail Ferris
Associate Vice President for Advancement Services
Gail is responsible for gift and biographical records, technical services, training, project support, and gift agreement administration. He returned to GW in January 2016, having previously worked at the university from 1992 through 2003.
He has worked in advancement services at Yale, Georgetown, American, and Catholic universities, as well as at the World Wildlife Fund and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. A founding member of the Association of Advancement Services Professionals, Gail served as its president and is currently chair of its Education Committee. He served 10 years on the faculty of the CASE Summer Institute for Advancement Services, chairing the institute twice, and has chaired the CASE Gift Processing and Donor Records workshops twice.
Gail is the recipient of the CASE Crystal Apple Award for outstanding teaching and has authored chapters in several books published by CASE. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati, and an M.B.A. from the University of New Haven. He is a member of the Connecticut bar.

Sarah L. Fosdick
Assistant Vice President for Central Development and Executive Director of Development for Central Initiatives and Family Philanthropy
Sarah (Lefferts) Fosdick serves as Assistant Vice President for Central Development at The George Washington University. Sarah leads the university-wide fundraising for the strategic priorities of the institution, including student scholarship, interdisciplinary institutes, and capital campaigns.
In addition to her own fundraising portfolio, Sarah manages dedicated members of GW’s DAR team, including regionally focused major gift officers, and oversees fundraising from the constituency of GW families in support of all schools, colleges, and the student experience. Sarah has spent thirteen years managing teams and fundraising at the principal, major, and leadership annual gift levels across schools, units, and central development at GW.
Sarah earned her Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from GW’s Columbian College of Arts and Sciences and her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The George Washington School of Business.

Associate Vice President for Principal and Legacy Gifts
Andrea comes to DAR from The Catholic University of America, where she was an Associate VP for Advancement. She developed the university's first principal gifts program and worked with academic partners to identify, develop, and raise funds for university-wide strategic priorities.
Prior to joining Catholic University, Andrea was VP of Institution Advancement at Washington College and spent 7 years at Johns Hopkins University as the Associate Dean for External Relations at the Peabody Institute. Before moving to Maryland, Andrea was the Chief Development Officer and Campaign Director for St. Bonaventure University.
Andrea received her BA in Art History from Brown University and her BFA in Vocal Performance from SUNY Purchase. She lives in Annapolis with her husband, their teenage twins, and their dog. Andrea is an avid gardener and loves to travel.

Assistant Vice President for Planned Giving
Dean Regenovich serves as the Assistant Vice President of Planned Giving at GW, where he engages loyal alumni, faculty, grateful patients, and friends of the university to include GW in their long-term philanthropic plans.
Dean has over thirty years of development experience which includes Executive Director of Gift Planning at Indiana University Foundation, Assistant Dean for Advancement at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, AVP of Principal, Major and Planned Gifts at Illinois Institute of Technology and National Director of Charitable Estate Planning at March of Dimes.
He is an Adjunct Faculty member at the Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy and practiced estate planning and tax law prior to beginning his development career. GW is a return to DC for Dean, who is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law School.

Jackie Wood
Associate Vice President and Chief Development Officer, Health and Medicine
Jackie oversees development and alumni relations for GW’s Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health. She works in partnership with academic and clinical leadership and volunteers to inspire donors to higher and deeper levels of philanthropic engagement in health and medicine. Jackie previously served as Assistant Vice President for Major and Principal Gifts for the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Jackie is a 20 year veteran in academic, health and medical fundraising who joined GW in May 2019. Previously, Jackie held advancement leadership positions with the National Academy of Medicine and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she led fundraising and engagement efforts for the School of Medicine. She spent a decade in development at Vanderbilt University, representing various areas including the medical center and the Peabody College of Education and Human Development. She began her career in development in Corporate Relations for the Penn State Smeal College of Business.
Jackie holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and master’s in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University.
