Largest Gift by Faculty to Fund Unique Center for Community Health for Caribbean and Latin America
The donation by Professor James Lebovic and Holly Gill to found the Gill-Lebovic Center for Community Health in the Caribbean and Latin America will leverage the research, expertise and experience in GW’s Milken Institute School of Public Health to create a permanent legacy of improved health outcomes in the region they have come to love over three plus decades of visits - first for tourism and then for service.
With each trip, their love for the region and its people grew stronger as did their desire to alleviate the acute levels of basic need they encountered. Taking things into their own hands—literally— they began direct aid projects in several communities that have flourished over the years. Now this transformational gift will continue their work.
