"In the summer of 2017, I had the honor to join a team of world-changers at the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) regional office in D.C.  I was part of the Public Information team, the unit responsible for all communications efforts between the UNHCR and US media outlets, and on World Refugee Day (June 20), I found myself directly involved in organizing the UNHCR’s annual celebration event at the Kennedy Center.

The internship at UNHCR not only led me to discover the intersection of my passion and the need of the world, but it also provided me with further opportunities for professional development. In the Fall 2017 semester, I embarked on my study abroad journey in Jerusalem, while also continuing my service at the United Nations at UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees."
